On the one hand, the cultivation, harvesting and pressing of the oil itself provides work for a many people in the world. However, on the other hand, more and more land is being ripped out of the environment and extensive cultivation is destroying natural tropical forests. Aware of the threat, palm oil producers and processors, together with environmentalists and social activists, led to the establishment of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2004.
Since then, the RSPO associates responsible growers, producers and sellers of products made from guinea oil palm. Its aim is to promote efficient and ecological methods of production and use of the raw material. A tool to achieve this goal is the RSPO certification.
Having a certificate by processor or distributor is for potential customer the proof that production of palm wax SM 6035 has not contributed to the destruction of natural ecosystems.
